Happiness, Humility & Heart: January 25 Full Moon in Leo, Astrology with Kathryn Andren

Full Moon is a time to stand out of the crowd and let your light shine. This is a time of ripeness, an opportunity to harvest the reward of whatever you have been working on the past few weeks.  What was formerly hidden is now being revealed into the light.

The Leo Full Moon opposite Sun in Aquarius supports creating connections with others through the heart.  The Full Moon in Leo illuminates all the ways to have courage, with pride and strength. As the Aquarius Sun is opposite Leo Moon, this is a reflection of the radical, radiant heart. Notice carefully who or what inspires your creativity.

I’d generally say “Let’s Get Loud” for a Leo Full Moon. However, humility and reflection is required at this January Full Moon. January astrology planet patterns are an invitation for some serious soul searching. Who do you truly love? What is your secret passion? Dive deeper with creative vision along with practical planning.

On a personal note, did you know the song “Let’s Get Loud” is a cha-cha? I found a new way to keep myself humble in 2024. Gone to Zumba class! My love affair with dance has turned a corner with a new expression.

Zumba is high energy exercise with music, and many of the movements include Latin rhythms, like salsa or cha-cha. Sometimes the teacher adds Bollywood belly dance, or even what appears to be basic hula! I am thrilled, however humbled by learning something new.

I would think with all the social dance training I’ve done over the years this class would be easy. It’s not. I’m at the gym with about 20 other participants, mostly women, our age group seems to be 50 to 70 something. This makes me smile and reminds me of the Hula classes I once enjoyed on Big Island many moons ago. The group moves left and I go right. Arms move up and I reach down. I learned to position myself on the side of the room, to give myself plenty of space!

In the quiet months of winter here in the Hudson Valley, what I know for sure is movement and music nurtures me like meditation. I’m getting out of my box again, trying something new to activate joy, learn new patterns, and keep my physical body strong. My new experiences in Zumba class reminds me of this month’s planet patterns; as above, so below:

Pluto moved into Aquarius on January 20. Potent Pluto is about the depths and seeing under the surface. It aligns with Sun this week, then fuels the fire for the January 25 Full Moon, as they all squares off to jovial Jupiter in Taurus. If this weeks planet patterns could talk, they might say:

  • Sun and Pluto in Aquarius says: Think big, then dive deeper.

  • Full Moon in Leo asks: Is my Heart singing? How can I best authentically connect with those who matter most?

  • Jupiter in Taurus requests: A practical plan that’s down to Earth.

Change is in the air.  Electric Uranus stations direct this week January 22, so all planets are in forward momentum until the next Mercury Retrograde starts in mid April, no fooling! If your new year got off to a slow start, this week is time to turn a corner with exciting change.

Leo the Lion stands out as the shining star, full of natural and charismatic leadership. This energy is integrated with the Aquarius Water Bearer who values group connection, dedicated in service to all.
